Well, it’s a new month, and for many of us, it’s not off to a good start. Take the hard-working members of the WGA, who awaken today with the knowledge that by day’s end, they may be returning to the picket lines for the first time since 2008. As The LOS ANGELES TIMES’ Anousha Sakoui … Read more
I have every reason in the world to despise Elon Musk. I nearly was side-swiped by a swerving Tesla while driving the other night, for which my rider blamed ME and dinged my record. I was appalled to see the celebration of his employees when his latest launch of a Space X rocket blew up … Read more
I needed a drink and an escape last night. It’s that time of the month, so to speak. If you scroll down to the bottom of this entry, you’ll have an idea where my head, and my net worth, are at this writing. But at the advice of someone I respect, I’m trying to call … Read more
Maybe you’re in a frame of mind to live up the promise of this day, but I’m nowhere near that jovial. In fact, I’m feeling far more like a fool than ever. If I’m to believe the urban myth that CNBC18.com attributes the origins of April Fools Day to, I guess I have to thank, … Read more
As an unapologetic and passionate sports fan, numbers have always fascinated me. My sincerest apologies upfront to anyone who may have been expecting some sort of media insight or astute observation today. As those of you who actually care already know, I’ve been mightily struggling to somehow make an earnest living from those skill sets, honed over decades of unique experiences having made companies billions and other … Read more
I’m far from the target audience for the MCU. The Marvel titles were a clear third on my pecking order of spending my allowance, with the DC Universe first and foremost in my heart (blame the campy 60s TV version of BATMAN, the first show I was allowed to stay up past 7:30 for), with … Read more
I once had the chance to eavesdrop on what can only be described as locker room talk between a couple of male billionaire media moguls. One was recently married, and happily so, effusive in his love and affection for a strong woman who he professed rescued him from a life of serial dating and horndogging, … Read more
When my first car was totaled when I foolishly lent it to my college roommate when two girls he had invited over to “study” needed a lift back to campus. I need a replacement set of wheels badly. A big bodybuilder friend of his claimed to have a “steal” for me, a low-mileage, late-model sedan, … Read more
