Mourning MORNING Once Again.

Mourning MORNING Once Again.

I have a complicated relationship with a lot of television, particularly shows that are set in the behind-the-scenes world of the industry.  By definition, I’m a target audience, since it’s a world that I’ve lived in for most of my adult life.  But with that perspective, I’m likely to be far more judgmental on attention … Read more

Time For A More Aggressive Game Plan, Coach Iger

The story that simply won’t go away reached a new level of staredown last night as America–well, at least approximately 76 per cent of it–celebrated the return of Jimmy Kimmel to the late night television “wars”.  In a much-anticipated hour that was alternately emotional and snarky, Kimmel did not disappoint either his fans or his … Read more

At Least Someone’s Got The Courage of Their Convictions.

Since we seem to be in times where history books are being rewritten constantly, we might as well update the definition of V-J Day.  Because based upon the level of self-congratulatory stories and posts that literally exploded across the internet yesterday afternoon that outdated definition clearly not to the victory over Japan, it’s the victory … Read more

Hey, Now. This Sanders Show Is Finally Over

Two Down, Two To Go?

Two Down, Two To Go?

No, neither democracy nor Jimmy Kimmel died yesterday afternoon, contrary to the shrill views of a sizable percentage of my social media “family”.  Last time I checked, most of us did not have federal agents tearing down our front doors and yanking the plugs for our internet connections out of the wall–even those of us who objectively believe that the fat farting fascist in charge of all of this has, ironically, the thinnest skin of anyone who has ever been in the public limelight.   Were that truly the case, given what I’ve said about him even in merely the preceding sentence, I suspect my sorry ass would have been dragged out of my place of business, not the contractors spending other people’s money that feign an inability to understand English when I would attempt to engage them in a conversation about their home service needs.  As long as that seems to be the boots on the ground priority, I guess all of us who don’t have a late night talk show are safe for now.

When someone as enduring and prolific as Robert Redford passes, it’s hard not to get overwhelmed.  Simply a list of the breadth and depth of his accomplishments and the realization that there’s been nary a moment of your own life that he’s not somehow touched is enough to take one’s breath away and yes, shed … Read more
